Book design for a publication showcasing the work of architecture students and faculty at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Over 700 pages, printed on uncoated stock, with silver foiled edging, and restrained design.

2008. Art direction and redesign of Tank magazine coinciding with its tenth anniversary. In addition, a Tank pop-up shop was set up near Carnaby Street, and the must-have anniversary party, which, I failed to attend due to my inexplicable laziness.

An ongoing editorial design project for Swarovski’s employee magazine, a modern-day “Werkzeitung”; published quarterly in English and German. A4 size, uncoated stock used throughout, cover features a different design and print treatment each issue, dependent on theme.

Illustration for a feature written by Palash Krishna Mehrotra, about an exceptionally enterprising auto-rickshaw driver.
Art direction for a still-life shoot, for the the spring/summer 2008 issue, together with the in-house photo collective, Studio88.
Book layout and packaging design for a series of books to coincide with the nationwide ban on smoking in public places in the UK, and sold on the same day the ban came into effect on July 1, 2007. Designed to mimic cigarette packs, complete with flip-top cartons, silver foil wrapping and sealed in cellophane, all in the service of great literature.

An exercise in non-violent resistance; the charity Make Poverty History invited Tank to produce a kind of “memorabilia” for the main participants of the 2005 G8 summit, (Tony Blair, Paul Martin, Jacques Chirac, Gerhard Schröder, George Bush, Junichiro Koizumi, Vladimir Putin and Silvio Berlusconi).
Eight books were designed with personalized names on the front page, while inside, a letter of concern and over 700 pages of staring faces, sent in from people the world over, a message that the world is watching them.

2006. Cover design, illustration and book layout for this “best of Tank magazine” compendium, and follow-up to Tank Book One, which was designed like an oversized cigarette packet, hence the matchbox reference for this second volume.
